When most people hear the word 'Creative' they think painting, making crafts and building things – that actually look like what they're supposed to! Natalie ahs taken that word one step further though. Not only does she have a fabulous talent for making crafts, she's become extraordinarily creative when it comes to her marketing and promotion – now that's the type of talent that makes this Campaign fly! Read on to find out more about Natalie;
1. What talent do you naturally have that makes you successful?
My most obvious talent is Creativity. My website stocks purely my handmade work, without being creative there wouldn’t have been a Precious Parcels. However, since setting up the business I’ve realised just how much sales and marketing drives me. I’ve always pursued a creative career but in actual fact I’m constantly thinking of ways to market new ventures and products. From road-side adverts to playgroup notice boards, I never miss a promotional spot. I read adverts and straplines where ever I am. And the funny thing is I’ve only just realised I’ve been doing it!
2. When did you first realise that talent was going to help you and how do you use it?
The more I’ve thought about it, the more I’ve realised this love of promotional opportunities goes way back. From a young age I’ve enjoyed TV adverts more than the programmes themselves! And I’m constantly commenting on how effective I think the advert will be.
Having set Precious Parcels up with no budget whatsoever I’m beginning to realise that this talent I have has helped me to find promotional opportunities that aren’t staring you in the face. Paid-for advertising is just one option, and this marketing mind I seem to have, will hopefully help me get recognised on a budget.
